Today I am 7 weeks Married. Everyone I know always asks, "How is life?". So I will tell you. It's good! My day consists of waking up, preparing breakfast, usually cereal (because I like my sleep a lot), pack Devin's lunch and send him out the door....because if he is 1 minute late they get a bad points, and if you get too many points you are fired. Then I have 15 minutes to get dressed, hair, make up, pack my lunch, and get out the door. Then comes 8 hours of work:
Devin works at Dickinson's Frozen Foods. He is a fork-lift driver. All day people tell him what to do and he does it. He has his good days and his bad days. Mostly he looks forward to when he doesn't have to work there and when he is finished with school and he geology degree.
I work on BYU-Idaho's campus as a graphic designer. Right now since I am not going to school this trimester I petitioned to work full-time and I was granted :) So lucky for us! All day I sit at my desk with a huge touchscreen computer, and my other computer and create graphics. Well that's what I did when I started... now I know how to use new software such as Articulate Storyline and Camtasia. I also train professors on them. last semester I narrated some tutorial videos for a nursing class. This semester I have started narrating for a BIGGER nursing course and it's insane! I have to learn so many body parts and their scientific names. After 10 minutes of narrating, I have to take a break because I start messing up and I can't get anything done. Here is a Graphic I did....
After 4:00 hits, Devin and I get to go home. We are tired out from a long day so we sit.... on our pretty blue couches. Sometimes we do Devin's homework and sometimes we watch Boy Meets World and recently we bought all the season's of the Big Bang Theory. Everyday we say... "We should go to the gym.." But then we just find a reason not to. Usually (if I am not tired) I will make dinner and we eat. Then if I feel like it, I will put food away for lunches and clean up the kitchen. Somedays I just don't clean up and then I feel like a failure at being a wife....but Devin still loves me and I do it the next day.
These are our Monday-Thursday days and nights. Friday is our date night and we always find something to do. Saturday I usually go shopping for food, deep clean the apartment, and get out of the house!
Sunday's are the WORST.... I know I should say that, but Devin has work. So I sleep in and then get all ready for church and then sit there... waiting...and waiting because our church starts at 1:30. Usually I just don't want to be alone so I leave early in hopes to find someone to talk to or sing in the ward choir. Then comes another weird part. Sitting alone in sacrament meeting. I am in a married ward so everyone has someone (or friends that they know at least). Then there are children. I love kids! I like making them smile and laugh. I like talking to them in funny voices.... so I am sure my ward sees me as a creepy girl who makes faces at their kids. But it's okay, when you look at it, that is what I am! Ha Ha.
After church Devin is home and we head to Ashton to have dinner with Devin's mom.
SUPER EXCITING...right? meh life isn't always exciting I guess.
So when people are asking, "How is life." I don't understand why they need more after "Good." Maybe I will have to make up some exciting crazy life they all expect me to have.
I guess this blog post should cover up to the Next 3 months until I start classes again....I hope the gym part changes though.
Until we meet again,
Kaylynn Jackson

Maybe they're actually asking for intimate details about your marriage, since that's really what changed... so give them something embarrassing to think about if you're tired of elaborating. hehe.
