One Day at a Time

I know you are all asking... "Whoa, you just did a blog a few days ago!" Right? But seriously it's the post you have all been waiting for!

DEVIN AND I ARE EXPECTING A BABY!!!!

That's right! Baby Jackson #2 will arrive in January 2017! We are so excited (I'm sure you could tell right haha) but we wanted to share our little secret with you and the whole World!

In the Beginning (a year ago): Devin and I went through a sad miscarriage. We didn't know we were pregnant but it was still devastating all the same. We decided to try for another one expecting it would only take a few months. Nothing was happening, so I started using ovulation tests. Month after month they kept coming back negative. We prayed and asked what we needed to do. It was a sad time but we pushed forward until we got an answer. Go to the doctor! I made an appointment and didn't get the news I wanted to. I was too "Morbidly Obese" to conceive and I just couldn't ovulate. The answer? loose weight (It's harder than it sounds) I got on Thrive for two months and lost 20 lbs and 30 inches and felt GREAT! Then the doctor prescribed Clomid. We finished the first cycle and during the follicle ultrasound they told me that the first round didn't work. I cried all the way home. Why wasn't my body working. It was very frustrating. So our next step was to wait for my next cycle. I had the Clomid in hand and waited....and waited...and waited.

When my cycle didn't show I called the doctor frustrated and they told me to wait another week and we would go from there. So I waited some more. Finally the day came and still no cycle. So I tested. Not even 5 minutes later there were two beautiful lines. I was so excited I couldn't breathe! Devin and I couldn't stop smiling! It was so exciting :) We called and told the parents and the rest is history!

I'm now at 10 weeks today and life is so so good. The baby is healthy and even though Kamille doesn't quite get it, she still rubs my belly and says "baby"!

JUNE TRAVELS

June wasn't busy. It was pretty laid back. We got to go on one trip to Denver to see our new niece, Molly's baby blessing. Our SUV decided to break the Sunday before we were going to leave, but luckily Devin's parents live in North Dakota and we could catch a ride with them. We left late and we drove all night (that was an adventure) but we got in at 5 ish in the morning. We switched off driving and keeping the driver awake. There was one time I heard the driver snore and that kind of freaked me out! haha I couldn't sleep most of the drive. But we made! Baby Molly is adorable and Kamille LOVED her. She mostly wanted to hug her and squeeze her and not let her go. She's a little rough with the little ones. Kamille also got to play with her cousin's Ethan and Kayson. They were the cutest. Playing so nice and hugging all the time. We also took family pictures while we were in Denver. It rained, so we had to hurry but then as soon as it stopped we got some pictures with a beautiful rainbow!

We then took off for Ashton to pick up a vehicle that we could use while our SUV was getting fixed. The little camry didn't have a working AC so we drove over 700 miles dying in the heat! But we were able to get home safely and that's what matters.
Next month is going to be crazy! We have Devin's birthday, the 4th of July celebrations, a Jackson reunion, and lastly my brother's wedding! (two trips to Idaho) then we have decided that there will be no travelling in August and only one camping trip in Idaho in September. Then we are done!!! haha I love seeing family but it's hard when the road seems to go only one way. I hope someday my family in Idaho will travel to North Dakota to see us (hint hint) I think everyone (including ourselves at one point) thought we would move back to Idaho, but in all honesty, we love North Dakota. We love our little home, our ward family, our friends, our tiny town and so much more. When we visit Idaho, it just isn't home anymore... Home is where you make it.

Seriously this year is flying by. I can't believe it's almost half over. This last month hasn't been too busy. I took a trip to Northern Idaho for my brother's open house and to also take engagement pictures for my other brother. He's getting married in July and then heading to Puerto Rico. Devin and I planned on going and we were just about to purchase our airline tickets when we decided to talk to my doctor. Two months ago we started fertility treatments and are in the process of trying to have another baby. Right now Puerto Rico is in a level 2 warning for the Zika Virus. My doctor advised us that we should not go until they can get it more under control. So now we aren't going to Puerto Rico, but we will still make it to the wedding in Twin Falls.

Devin is working hard everyday. He is doing so good on Thrive and kicking my trash! We decided to add up how much weight he has lost since last year and it's up to 40 lbs! We have been on thrive for 3 months now and loving it! :) We haven't been measuring every week anymore but are setting good goals for months to come. One of the biggest things I have seen in Devin is his attitude change. He's happier, positive, and so much more confident. I love the fact that I can get up and get things done. My doctor has also been super impressed with my weight loss and can see that it's been helping with my PCOS and infertility.

Kamille is 19 months old! She has so much personality in her tiny body. She loves to sit on her potty all the time and takes off her own diaper. She also likes to give me treats when I use the bathroom (she's so sweet). She eats anything she can get her hands on and loves to drink milk. Lately she's been having trouble sleeping in her own room. It seems at 4 in the morning she's knocking on our door and climbs right between us. I think it's because all the rest of her teeth are coming in and I'm hoping that after they are all through we can have some better nights. She is talking and signing a lot better now. In sign language she can say: "More, Please, Thank You, Milk, Mama, Dada, and Kitty" She is super close to signing Grandma and Grandpa. She is talking up a storm but usually can imitate us. Once in a while she will say stuff on her own like "Oh Boy!" that one cracks me up or when she says "Mine" it's all sweet and cute.

With our house we have slowed down but haven't stopped. We put the crown up in our living room and it's looking beautiful! :) All I need to do is paint trim and put in new carpet. Kamille's room is all re-painted! We have also been working a lot outside. It's been fun mowing the lawn, watering roses, raspberries, and blueberries. Right now our yard is being taken over by dandelions, so we have been working on spraying them. I think buying this house has been one of our best investments. It's teaching us a lot and saving us money!
